Organic Milk butter packaging

A label for a 1kg butter tub, balancing a rural photograph against mandatory information tables.

Dairy regulation demands a lot of space: nutrition tables, production and expiry information, country of origin, storage conditions. That information can take up half the pack.

We split the lid from the body: brand, product name and a rural photograph on the lid; mandatory information blocks on the body. The buyer sees the lid on the shelf and reads the body in the kitchen.

The photograph shows the butter itself — cut, lifted with a knife. In dairy, a cow or a meadow is a cliché; the product is more convincing.
